Starting a family after a bowel transplant
If you are a woman of childbearing age, you may be able to get pregnant after a bowel transplant. This is rare, and has risks for you, your baby and the bowel transplant. Pregnancy in bowel transplant patients needs highly specialised advice and support.
If you wish to start a family, your medicines may need to change. It is important that you discuss any plans with your transplant team first.
