Diversity Lead Nurse - Organ Donation

Our specialist nurses in organ donation (SNODs) are at the heart of everything that we do. Forming the backbone of our capabilities, they work with families to deliver the best possible care, and are responsible for saving and enhancing thousands of lives every year. With your help, we could do even more.

Join us at our open day

That's why we are delighted to reveal that we'll be hosting taster sessions for nurses who are considering joining us.

These sessions are happening on:

  • Saturday 8th September, at:
  • The West End Donor Centre, London (26 Margaret St, Marylebone, London W1W 8NB) View on Google Maps

They promise to be quite unique, with two sessions available:

  • 10.30am - 12.30pm and
  • 1.30pm - 3.30pm

We want to give you a real taster of what it is like to join our team, so these sessions will be attended by a broad selection of our people including current SNODs, a transplant surgeon and members of the education team with information on the exceptional training and development opportunities available. Crucially, attendees will also meet some of our patients – people whose lives have been transformed by the incredible work of NHSBT – giving you a real feel for just how important this opportunity is.

We will also be on hand to give you advice on the application process, while you will be paired up with a ‘buddy’ who will be happy to answer any of your questions after the event.

Who's invited?

We would love to meet registered nurses who have a background in critical care or emergency care. You don’t necessarily need to be working within these areas now, but you will have experienced the field at some point in your career. You will also need outstanding communication and leadership skills, and you will be passionate about organ donation and ultimately saving and improving lives.

Improving the diversity of our workforce and of our donors is key to our success and we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who may be underrepresented within NHSBT. We therefore welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic canditates, however we encourage applications from all.

Come and meet the team
