Examples of funded projects
These case studies provide examples of the types of projects that have previously been funded by the Community Grants Programme. Read more about each of these projects below.
Living kidney donation project - Give a gift, save a life
This project, by Vanik Council, ran from April 2023 to March 2024. The funding amount was £19,000 and the activity targeted all members of their community.
Organ donation and blood donation projects - A living legacy
These 3 projects, by Action on Blood, ran from April 2021 to April 2024. Their funding amount for the 2023 to 2024 financial year was £19,000 and their activity specifically targeted Black communities.
Blood donation project - one love, one blood, save lives
This project was run by RAFFA International Development Agency and targeted Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities in the East Midlands. The funding amount was £15,000.
Organ donation and blood donation project - Raising awareness amongst ethnic minority communities
This project was run by the Donor Research team at the University of Brighton. The funding amount was £18,989 and the activity targeted higher education students from diverse backgrounds, particularly the next generation of healthcare professionals.

The application window for the latest round of funding has now closed. The next funding application window for the Community Grants Programme will be in 2026.
