Platelets are vital for treating serious blood disorders but they can only be stored for a few days so regular donations are always in constant demand.

Platelets last just 7 days and can help people with cancer or after surgery.

Your platelet donation could help up to 12 children or 3 adults. We're looking for blood donors with A negative, A positive, or AB negative blood types to become platelet donors.

Giving platelets is easy. Blood is safely drawn from your arm, and then processed to separate the platelets.

Platelet donations are carried out by professionally trained staff at one of our 25 platelet donation centres across England.
