Save the date! Organ Donation Week 2019

Organ Donation Week is always a highlight of the year – a wonderful week of activity to shine a light on the generosity of donors and the incredible impact they have on transplant recipients, and an opportunity to educate, inform and inspire people, to help save and improve more lives.

Our 2018 campaign focused on encouraging people to share their organ donation decision with their families and what a success it was! Organ Donation Week saw more people sign up as organ donors than our previous annual awareness weeks, over 4 million people watched our campaign video and there were more than 8,200 social media posts relating to Organ Donation Week!

You may also have noticed local buildings or landmarks being illuminated pink in support of organ donation last September - all arranged by our wonderful Specialist Nurses. There was also an organ donation branded bus, promotional events in hospitals, shopping centres and at huge public events, including the Great North Run, where well-known celebrities like Gabby Logan and members of the cast of Emmerdale helped to get people talking and thinking about organ donation.
