NHSBT Business Plan launches

5 July 2021

Yesterday (01 July) marked the launch of NHS Blood and Transplant's (NHSBT) Business Plan for 2021/22.

2021/22 will represent a year of recovery for NHSBT, as well as an opportunity to lock in positive change, and build equity and innovation into our culture and services.

We head into 2021/22 with continued uncertainty and challenging operating conditions from 2020/21, not least the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In respect of Covid we have demonstrated great resilience and agility while maintaining the security of supply, we have driven innovation in how we work and the services we provide, and have built greater collaboration across our organisation and with the wider NHS.

The commitment of our people to our mission to save and improve lives is the bedrock of our work.

As a national provider of specialist products and services, operating in a system of local providers, NHSBT has a responsibility to provide proactive system leadership to optimise resources, improve clinical outcomes and reduce health inequalities.

To save and improve even more lives in the years to come, we will adopt the following four pillars. Find out more by clicking on each pillar.
