NHSBT’s waiver is as follows:
“NHSBT is committed to helping the Infected Blood Inquiry find truth and justice for all those whose lives have been so tragically affected.
“We will waive Legal Professional Privilege for information held by NHSBT in respect of the Infected Blood Inquiry Terms of Reference for the whole period up to its announcement, excluding any current or future legal cases.
“We have already made our archive fully available to the Inquiry without reviewing documents in advance. We understand the relevance of such documents and the need for them to be available for review and scrutiny.
“In the rare circumstances where waiving Legal Professional Privilege could compromise the rights of others, NHSBT will work with the Inquiry to find a way to produce the evidence in a way that both respects the rights of all and is consistent with our commitment to transparency and truth.”
