Turn the skies pink for Organ Donation Week
Monday 22 September to Sunday 28 September 2025
This year, for Organ Donation Week, we want as many local landmarks and buildings across the country to turn pink. In memory of more than 400 people who died last year, waiting for an organ transplant, and to encourage people to confirm their decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register.
We hope you can join us to commemorate those who died and to help us to highlight that there are more than 8000 people waiting for a life changing transplant.
Sadly, someone will die today waiting for a transplant, and most of us would accept an organ if we needed one. It takes just 2 minutes for someone to confirm their decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register.
What better reminder for people to think of others than a big pink building. Pink is the colour of the organ donation card and the more buildings we can light up pink, the more attention we can give to this life-saving act.
So whether it's a local landmark, your local hospital, a council office building, school or university make sure you go pink this Organ Donation Week!
Here's how you could be part of this national campaign.
How to get started
Our 'how to' letter has information about how your organisation, or a building or tourist attraction near you can go pink for the week.
Make sure to include why you're lighting up pink, it’s really important to share that more people need to confirm their decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register while also remembering those who lost their lives waiting for a transplant.
You could ask organisations in your area, or where you work, the local castle, leisure centre, stately home!
