Yoshi's story
I work as part of a team that is responsible for the safe release of numerous IT developments across NHSBT. We ensure that our IT systems are compliant with regulations and standards of practice such as Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP). We also review the validation of new software to ensure that it is safe to use.
I love the fact that my role is continuously evolving and constantly challenging. No two pieces of work are really ever the same and I get chance to see the development of new products from conception to release. I have had the chance to learn and understand the more technical side of IT, but there is still so much more to learn.
What I love about IT development is our care, consideration and focus. It's not about how quickly we can deliver a new product to users, but the impact the product has on patients.
The majority of my work has been in Organ Donation and Transplantation (ODT) where I have aided with such releases as the Donor Registration Transformation project. I'm really proud to have been part of this and the difference it will make.
