The first round of BTRUs in 2015 – 2022
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded translational research in blood and transplantation for five years in October 2015, creating the first round of four BTRUs. This funding was then extended for a further 18 months.
The BTRUs covered:
- Donor Health and Genomics (University of Cambridge)
- Organ Donation and Transplantation (University of Cambridge with the University of Newcastle)
- Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Immune Therapies (University College London)
- Manufacture and Clinical Assessment of Cultured Red Cells (University of Bristol)
