Principal investigators
Our Principal Investigators prepare and carry out research projects across our 4 therapeutic areas.
A Principal Investigator (PI) is in charge of a research project. They prepare and carry out the research, as well as analysing the data and reporting the results.
When we appoint PIs we:
- review their previous research
- ensure their research fits with our areas of responsibility in relation to transfusion and transplantation
- ensure they will provide a good overall contribution to their area of expertise, which may include: managing research groups, creating and managing research facilities, design and delivery of outreach programmes, editorial work for journals, and clinical work where appropriate
