Best Practice

Trusts should be aware that when tissue donated from a deceased person ceases to be used for a scheduled purpose it can be disposed of as clinical waste, but should be kept separate from other forms of clinical waste. Final disposal by incineration is permitted and this should be described in a Trust policy which should be written with due regard for the law.
