Helen Fridell and Piers White appointed as non-executive directors to NHS Blood and Transplant

NHS Blood and Transplant is pleased to announce the appointment of Helen Fridell and Piers White as non-executive directors for three years from 18 February 2019.

These appointments are made in accordance with the Cabinet Office Code of Governance for Public Appointments.

Helen FridellHelen is the Transformation Director, Customer Experience, Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEAR) at Cisco.

Helen began her career as a freelance designer before working in digital media, publishing and peer-to-peer start-ups in Melbourne, Tokyo and Singapore.

She moved to London in 2011 and joined Cisco, taking on roles in both the sales and services organisations.

Helen is currently serving on the UK Gambling Commission Digital Advisory Panel, is a mentor for the Mentoring for Growth program and is a recurring Judge for the UK National Business Awards.

Piers WhitePiers White has previously held a number of executive roles in financial services including; Service Director for Barclays UK branches, senior executive roles at Flemings and UK Chief Executive Officer of Insinger de Beaufort, the Anglo-Dutch private investment bank.

He is a non-executive director at The Hyde Housing Association, is Chair of Courier Facilities Ltd and Chair of Ploughshare Innovations Ltd.

He was awarded an MBE for public service in 2009. Piers is Chair of NHSBT’s Governance and Assurance Committee.
