Information on how data will be handled as part of this study.

Our procedures for the handling, storage and destruction of the data are compliant with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. This research is a task in the public interest, which is our legal basis for processing information about study participants.

NHS Blood and Transplant, based in the United Kingdom, is the data controller for the study and is responsible for looking after participants’ information and using it properly.

All participants will be assigned a unique number (trial ID) that will be used instead of personal identifiers. The results of the study will be reported and published in summary tables and graphs, meaning participant identities are kept confidential.
