NHS Blood and Transplant provide a range of allograft bone products to meet the needs of orthopaedic surgeons. Some grafts are provided fresh frozen to enable the theatre team to shape the grafts, and others are specifically sized grafts to match an application and minimise theatre time. Grafts are either frozen, or freeze dried for convenience of storage and transport. Most grafts are sterilised by gamma irradiation for additional safety.
