The Flesh and Blood partnership between NHS Blood and Transplant and The Christian Church increased awareness of the importance of blood and organ donation within the church in England.
This innovative partnership helped equip members of the church with the tools needed to be advocates for donation.
A partnership highlight came when Reverend Dr. Rowan Williams wrote a poem, asking Christians to see blood and organ donation as part of their giving and as an act of generosity.
Reverend Dr. Rowan Williams is a noted poet and said of his Host Organism poem: "It's a poem about hope, and about the sort of providential accident of one life being planted in another and making new things possible."
