  • About NHSBT

NHSBT is a Special Health Authority in the NHS with responsibility for optimising the supply of blood, organs, and tissues and raising the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of blood and transplant services.
Clinical Translation Partnerships (CTP) was established in 2010 to help the cellular therapy community translate its research into viable clinical therapies, by utilising NHSBT's massive skills and expertise in managing the entire value chain from consent, procurement, manufacturing and the cold supply chain to patients.

As part of NHSBT, CTP has a unique access to the NHS and is based on over 60 years experience in managing the repeatable delivery of viable cell and organ based therapies. Building on the experience gained in manufacturing, processing and logistical delivery of over 2 million units every year, we are a powerful partner to translate your cellular therapies into viable clinical therapies.

CTP sits within the National Blood Service and utilises the ATMP viable infrastructure of national HTA and MHRA licensed GMP facilities, and the inherent skills of its production scientists to work with organisations (academic, clinical, or commercial). Acting as a manufacturing and supply chain expert who can aid in the translation of research into viable clinical therapies.

CTP is therefore able to offer services ranging from process optimisation and conversion into GMP systems, through to clinical production and logistical delivery to patients.

CTP has access to over 27 HTA and MHRA regulated clean rooms, throughout the UK that delivers clinical treatments on a daily basis. This enables access to scientists, production professionals, and clinicians who can use their combined knowledge and expertise to:
