In creating one life why not save another?

It's easy to donate your cord blood to the NHS
Cord Blood Bank after the birth of your baby,
just like Chloe's Mum did

Donor Recruitment Assistant

I joined the NHS Cord Blood Bank in December 2003.  I work as a donor recruitment assistant at one of our hospital sites, collecting cord blood and obtaining consent from the donor mothers.  After 3 years I am still amazed that something that would normally be thrown away has such life saving potential.

Seeing the donor mothers all the way from ante natal care to delivery and collection of their baby’s cord blood gives me  and the enthusiastic staff here at Barnet General Hospital a great deal of satisfaction, as well as the donor mother knowing that her and her baby have potentially saved a life.
